About Me and My Team
I’m Mia, co-founder of Aigle Production, a documentary and film production company based between France and Georgia. Together with Aurore Hurstel, we’re bringing this project to life. I’ve dedicated myself to exploring shepherds and pastoral peoples through photography and cinema. I’ve lived among semi-nomadic communities in Madagascar and immersed myself in the pastoral life of the Tusheti region in the Caucasus - you can have a look on the film production compagny website : Aigle Production
The Exhibition: Living on Earth
Living on Earth is a group exhibition in the cultural center in Kvemo Alvani featuring 10 Georgian artists inspired by Tusheti shepherds. Expect immersive photographs of high pastures, paintings of Caucasian landscapes, sheep wool artworks, and reinterpreted everyday objects (carved shepherd tools). Picture raw wool transforming into living canvas, ochre earth painting ancestral gestures. Prototypes include felted wool samples and the trailer of the film "Gaumarjos, For the Victory" currently in production.
The Story Behind This Project
This exhibition stems from a simple desire: to inhabit the earth. Not as nostalgia, but as a deep necessity in a world drifting from the living. In Tusheti, for shepherds, the earth isn’t scenery—it’s presence. They walk with it, heed its winds, follow its seasons. After 2 years of immersion—from Madagascar to Georgia’s highlands—these encounters reshaped my vision, filming these silent lessons in patience and coexistence.

Why This Matters
This isn’t about idealizing a lost world, but making tangible a way of being rooted in attention to the living—against today’s speed and overconsumption. In Kvemo Alvani, we’re sparking dialogue between Georgian artists and local artisans: wool becomes canvas, earth becomes gesture, mountain becomes memory. It’s an invitation to feel nature’s communion, guided by those who know the world at shepherd’s height. Returning to earth isn’t rejecting modernity—it’s reimagining it. Your support makes it real.
